Our cardboard dulcimers are purchased as bulk kits from Backyard Music. The pictures below show some of the many steps we take to take them to the next level. We prime the inside and outside of the cardboard flat, affix the cotton fabric to the flat, apply two coats of finish to seal the fabric, and assemble the sound box. Next we fine sand the neck, level the frets if needed, round the ends of the frets. Finally we install the bridge, nut, geared tuners, strap button, strings, tune, and make sure the action is set to make the dulcimer easy to play.
