Appalachian Stump Fiddle
This is an old-time rhythm instrument made of a stick, bottle caps, and tambourine jingles. I was first introduced to this instrument by David Holt.
 
How to Play the Appalachian Stumpf Fiddle
Stomp downward on the beat with the stick. (floor, table, chair, box)
Tap the stick on the upbeat.
Say-“stomp-tap-stomp-tap-stomp-tap-stomp-tap" to the beat of the music”
Add a few scrapes across the bottle caps
Make up your own patterns.
